After a short hiatus, I’m back to recap the LA Galaxy’s most recent game against the New York Red Bulls on April 26, 2015. An excellent and intense match between two MLS superpowers! Did the Galaxy bring the Red Bulls unbeaten streak to an end? Or are the Red Bulls still the only team without a loss this season?

After a two game winning streak against the Seattle Sounders and Sporting KC, the LA Galaxy appeared to be in a good spot to keep on winning!
Nineteen-year-old homegrown player, Bradford Jamieson started in his second MLS game (his first against Sporting) because Robbie Keane suffered a groin injury during the Galaxy’s loss to the Vancouver Whitecaps on April 4. Unfortunately, Keane will more than likely miss the game against the Colorado Rapids as well. But I digress.
Not only did he earn his second consecutive start, Jamieson also scored his first MLS goal in the 9th minute! Stefan Ishizaki passed the ball to him, and Jamieson weaved between Dax McCarty and Chris Duvall, then shot the ball left-footed past Luis Robles. His awesome goal was nominated for the AT&T Goal of the Week, but he lost to Sporting KC’s Benny Feilhaber.
The Galaxy stayed in the lead until the 58th minute of the game. NY forward Sal Zizzo crossed the ball to his teammate Bradley Wright-Phillips. Luckily, A.J. DeLaGarza blocked Wright-Phillips’ shot only to send it directly to Felipe who accidentally tapped the ball past Jaime Penedo.
The Red Bulls controlled the rest of the match, but they failed to score the game-winning goal. The Galaxy left New York with one point and continued their unbeaten streak.
Unfortunately, both Robbie Keane and Jose Villarreal are still injured, yet the Galaxy has been performing well without them. After his excellent performance, I suspect Arena will give Jamieson his third consecutive start.
Will the LA Galaxy be able to earn another point (or three!) against the Colorado Rapids in their fifth home game of the 2015 MLS Season? Tune into MLS Live on May 2nd at 7:30pm pacific time to find out!
