The Los Angeles Angels fans are very excited with the results from this weekend series with the Detriot Tigers as they take the final game, 4-2, to complete a four game sweep.

Detriot got on the scoreboard first, in the top of the second inning, on a sacrifice fly by Catcher James McCann, that scored J.D. Martinez, to give the Tigers the early 1-0 lead.  Angels grabbed the lead in the bottom of the fifth, when Eric Aybar, singled to right, that scored Grant Green.  Mike Trout singled over the shortstop’s glove into left field to score Angels Second Baseman Johnny Giavotella and the Angels were ahead 2-1.

The Tigers came right back in the top of the sixth inning, on a throwing error by Johnny Giavotella.  Tigers Left Fielder, Yoenis Cespedes, was safe at first base and Miguel Cabrera, who was running from second base, kept running and scored to even the score at 2-2.

Los Angeles closed out the scoring in the bottom of the eight inning, on an infield single by Giavotella, that scored the final two runs and gave the fans the opportunity to break out the brooms.   Angels starter Matt Shoemaker only went 5-1/3 innings for a no decision, reliever Joe Smith picked up the win and he’s now 2-2 on the season.  David Price went 7-2/3 for the Tigers to take the loss, he’s now 4-2 on the season.

The Angels will remain at home, for a three game series with the Tampa Bay Rays, starting tonight.
