The nightcap of the doubleheader goes to the Los Angeles Angels, as the complete a four game sweep of the Boston Red Sox,7-3.

Albert Pujols continued his remarkable season with a pair of homers, to lead the Angels to victory. The two home runs gives him 29 for the season, and he now has 549 for his career, which moves him one home run past Mike Schmidt, into 15th place on the all time home run list. Pujols also for first time in his career, homered in both games of a doubleheader.

Angels starter Andrew Heaney(4-0), out pitched his counterpart, Red Sox starter Steven Wright,(3-3), Heaney managed to get complete seven strong innings, only allowing two runs on five hits, while sitting down four Red Sox batters on strikeouts.

Mike Trout hit a solo shot to center field in the bottom of the fifth inning, his 28th of the season, and briefly tied his teammate for the team and Major League lead, until Pujols’s second homer of the game.

The Los Angeles Angels,(52-40), have now won five in a row and will stay at home to start a three game series with a very tough Minnesota Twins,(50-42), team. Minnesota will send Kyle Gibson,(8-6, 2.85 ERA), he will face Angels starter Matt Shoemaker,(4-7, 4.85 ERA).

Angels are red-hot and they still sit on top of the American League West, holding a full two game lead over the Houston Astros. The Red Sox,(42-51), have now lost five straight and are now falling further behind the first place New York Yankees, nine full game out of first place.
