RECAP: Angels 9, Kansas City 4

@Angels

Make it two in a row for the Los Angeles Angels, as the defeat the champs, 9-4.

For the first time this season, the Angels have had a scoring explosion, as they produced the most runs this season, with nine. Great defense was a key to this victory as well, Andrelton Simmons made a Willie Mays catch, into shallow left-field, robbed Salvador Perez of a hit, was the biggest defensive play of the game.

Jared Weaver is now 3-0, after a good performance on the mound. On 90 pitches he managed to strikeout four, while giving up nine hits and a homer to Mike Moustkas. Johnny Giavotella‘s homer in the fifth, capped off a great inning, when the Angels did their damage and opened-up a healthy lead that they would not relinquish. Mike Trout was another key piece in the big win. His two-out single to right, in the second inning, scored both Giavotella and Escobar gave the team the lead, before the big fifth inning rally.

HALOS DUGOUT:

The Angels scored nine runs for the first time this season, Is this the kick-start they needed to get this offense going? The most impressive thing in this win was the defense, the turned away a few of the Royals threats on timely double plays. The Angels were able to turn three double-plays, while the Royals committed one error and no double-plays.
