Rangers Gain Ground On Angels With 4-2 Victory

The Texas Rangers used a monster home run from Joey Gallo to beat the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim 4-2 on Sunday night. Anaheim snapped a 2-game winning streak with the loss.

For Texas Miguel Gonzalez got the start. He pithed 5 innings allowing 2 hits and 1 run. He walked 5 and struck out 2 as he picked up his 8th win of the year.

For Anaheim Garrett Richards got the start. He pitched 5 innings allowing 2 hits and 3 runs, 2 of them earned. He walked 1 and struck out 7 as he picked up his 2nd loss of the year.

The offense got started in the 1st inning when Adrian Beltre hit a 2-run double that put the Rangers on the board. Gallo followed with a 490 foot bomb in the 2nd inning to push the lead to 3-0.

Mike Trout hit a sac fly in the 5th inning that brought in Luis Valbuena that put the Halos on the board. Elvis Andrus hit a sac fly that brought in Delino DeShields and Trout answered back with a solo home run of his own.

Jake Diekman threw 1.2 inning and picked up his 1st save of the year.
