Rams Recent Rough Stretch Reads to Roster Changes
- Updated: October 23, 2019
Los Angeles has gone through a long three weeks. Since the Rams beat the Browns, the Rams have gone on a three game losing streak. The losing streak started with a stunning loss to Tampa Bay where the Buccaneers scored 55 points. After the shocking loss at home, the Rams suffered a heartbreaking loss on the road to Seattle. Following back to back losses, the Rams were dominated at home by the their division rivals, the 49ers. As a result of this current losing streak, the Rams are sitting at 3-3 and they are in third place in the NFC West. Due to the rough stretch the Rams had to endure, they now face an uphill climb for the rest of the season. Both teams in front of them have five wins a piece, and show no signs of slowing down.
On Tuesday afternoon, the Rams made a few shocking trades. In the first move of the day, the Rams sent an undisclosed draft pick to Cleveland. In return, the Rams received some OL help in the form of Austin Corbett. Immediately following that move, the Rams traded Marcus Peters to Baltimore in return for LB Kenny Young. The Rams also received an undisclosed draft pick in 2020. Finally, in their last trade of the day, the Rams acquired Jalen Ramsey from Jacksonville in exchange for a number of draft picks. Those picks were a first round in 2020, 2021, and a fourth round pick in 2021 as well.
Clearly the Rams felt they needed to upgrade, they did so in a big way. Going forward, it will be interesting to see what the Rams do before the trade deadline occurs later this month. With several players on the roster injured, the Rams will have a challenge in the coming weeks. Their next task will not be an easy one, as they will travel to Atlanta to play the Falcons. If the Rams can manage to get a win on the road, it will serve as a huge sigh of relief for all the Rams fans watching.
