- Updated: January 15, 2019
After the divisional round of the NFL playoffs, the Los Angeles Rams advancing to the NFC championship game. The Rams beat the Cowboys by a score of 30-22. Credit the Rams defense for stopping the Cowboys run game. Defensive coordinator Wade Phillips created an excellent game plan to neutralize Ezekiel Elliott. Offensively, the Rams ran wild on the Cowboys. C.J. Anderson and Todd Gurley combined for 238 rushing yards, as well as 3 rushing touchdowns.
One player who deserves congratulations is Andrew Whitworth as he was apart of his first win in the playoffs. Prior to this game, Whitworth’s career record in the playoffs was 0-7. This game must be a sigh of relief for Whitworth going forward.
Next, up for Los Angeles, they will travel to New Orleans to face the Saints in the NFC championship game. These two teams met once in the regular season. The Saints won 45-35. However, expect to see a bit of a lower scoring game due to the improved defense on both teams. As it stands right now, Los Angeles are two wins away from becoming Super Bowl champions.
