Rakell Lifts Ducks Over Flyers

Rickard Rakell scored two goals and the Anaheim Ducks beat the Philadelphia Flyers 4-1 on Tuesday night. Anaheim was able to show resilience and fight as they were playing on the second night of a back to back.
Rakell got the Ducks on the board first with a slap shot goal in the first period. His goal was assisted by Corey Perry and Sami Vatanen and gave Anaheim an early 1-0 lead.
Rakell scored another goal just 5 minutes later to push the lead to 2-0. His wrist shot goal was assisted by Perry and Getzlaf.
In the second period Chris Stewart scored a penalty shot goal that gave the Ducks a 3-0 advantage heading into the final period.
Brayden Schenn scored the only goal for the Flyers in the third period. He scored a tip-in shot that was assisted by Claude Giroux and Shayne Gostisbehere.
Andrew Cogliano scored an empty net shot in the final minute of the game that was assisted by Simon Despres and gave the Ducks the 4-1 victory.
With the win Anaheim improves to 29-19-7 on the year with their next game coming on Thursday night against the Columbus Blue Jackets.
