Albert Pujols launched home run number 584 of his career, placing him in tenth place on baseball’s all-time list. Pujols passed Mark McGwire and is now only two homers shy of tying Frank Robinson (586) for ninth place.

Both Mike Trout and Pujols hit first-inning homers off Blue Jays starter Marco Estrada (L,7-6), as the Angels defeated Toronto, 8-2. The win was the fourth in the ten games. Matt Shoemaker (W,8-13), went six full innings allowing no runs on three hits. Jett Bandy and Pujols lead the offensive attack with four hits each. The Angels had their best offensive game in over a week.

HALO’S DUGOUT:

The win was the fourth in the past ten games for the Halos. This win was impressive against one of the better teams in the American League.

ANGELS ON DECK:

Jared Weaver (8-11, 5.47 ERA), will take the mound in search for his ninth win of the season, and break three-game losing streak. J.A. Happ (17-3, 3.05 ERA) will take the mound for Toronto. Happ is currently tied for the most wins in baseball. Los Angeles (53-73) is still in the American League West basement, 21.5 games out of first place.
