Cactus League play is winding down, which is perfect for the Los Angeles Dodgers, because the majority of the team seems to be ready for the season. The boys in blue extended their current win streak with a 9-6 victory over the Chicago White Sox.
Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw got off to a bit of a slow start, considering he allowed a walk, a single, and a double to let the White Sox jump out to a 1-0 lead. Fortunately that’s all the Chicago squad was able to get off the reigning NL MVP. The lefty seemed to warm up, and he decided to combat his first inning performance with 8 strikeouts on the day. Check them out here.
The Los Angeles offense gave their starting pitcher some cushion with a scoring frenzy that was lead by none other than Yasiel Puig. Just like yesterday the young outfielder sparked the offensive attack with a blast out of the park. With 5, Puig is now tied for the second most HR’s in the MLB, and he leads the Dodgers as well. Here’s a look at Puig’s big homer that helped jump start the offensive attack for LA.
The other offensive star of the game would have to be one of the newest acquisitions, Jimmy Rollins. The new infielder hit his first HR as a Dodger today, and ended the game with a team high 4 RBI’s. Unfortunately for Jimmy Rollins, he was brought in to replace some considerable talent on this roster. Fortunately for him, however, he seems to be filling that void just fine thus far. Check out some Jimmy Rollins highlights from today’s victory.
The Los Angeles Dodgers are back in action tomorrow evening against their most hated rival, and a formidable opponent in the San Francisco Giants. The game is slated for a 7:05pm start on March 27th, 2015 at Camelback Ranch in Glendale, Arizona. Superstar pitcher Zack Greinke will take the mound for the boys in blue. Check back here tomorrow for more Dodgers game recaps, notes, and highlights.
