Pirates Come From Behind, Beat Padres 3-2

The Pittsburgh Pirates came from behind to beat the San Diego Padres 3-2 on Tuesday night. This marks the 4th loss in a row for the Friars Faithful.

Tyson Ross got the start today for the Padres and pitched 2 innings allowing 2 hits and struck out 1. After an hour and 42 minute rain delay Ross did not return to the game. He received a no decision.

On the other hand. Francisco Liriano got the start for the Pirates. He pitched 6 innings and allowed 4 hits and 2 runs. He also struck out 6 and walked 1. He picked up the no decision as well.

The offense started in the 3rd inning for the Padres. Matt Kemp hit a RBI double to center field that brought in Derek Norris and Yonder Alonso. This gave the Padres a 2-0 lead.

In the 3rd inning All-Star Andrew McCutchen hit a RBI double to right field that brought in Neil Walker. This cut the deficit to 2-1.

Jung Ho Kang hit a RBI triple in the 5th inning that tied the game at 2 a piece.

In the bottom of the 8th inning Gregory Polanco hit a RBI triple as well to center field that brought in Sean Rodriguez and also served to be the winning run.

The Padres woes continue and they will wrap up the series with the Pirates tomorrow night at 4:05 p.m. PST.

Andrew Cashner and Charlie Morton will square in the series finale.
