According to Adam Schefter of ESPN.com Chargers Quaterback Philip Rivers will not play in this year’s Pro Bowl.
Like Peyton Manning, Chargers QB Philip Rivers will not play in Pro Bowl. Rivers is recovering from a back injury.

Rivers has been battling a back injury for a while and has elected not to risk further injury and sit out of this year’s contest. This year Rivers threw for over 4,000 passing yards along with 31 touchdowns and 18 interceptions. This year’s Pro Bowl has been dampened by plenty of injuries to go along with many players that would be at this end of the season classic participating in the Super Bowl.
The Chargers do have Eric Weddle participating in the game and Michael Gehlken of U-T San Diego reports a few more will be joining him.
With Patriots win, Chargers TE Antonio Gates and ST Darrell Stuckey are officially Pro Bowlers. Stuckey for first time. Gates ninth.
