Philip Rivers Heading To The Pro Bowl

‏@denverpost

Late Tuesday evening, Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers was added to the AFC’s Pro Bowl roster to replace Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger.

Kevin Acee of the San Diego Union Tribune reported the news.

Rivers told the San Diego Union-Tribune in an interview that this Pro Bowl game would be his last as a San Diego Chargers player. “I made this team as a San Diego Charger,” Rivers said when asked in the interview. The expression was just to tip his cap and honor the fans of the San Diego community and a great show of respect for the city.

This will be the sixth Pro Bowl for Rivers and he will be joined by teammates Melvin Gordon and Casey Hayward. For the Chargers they will look to close San Diego chapter of their organization this weekend in Orlando before they turn their focus to the draft.

Thanks Tom, I’m glad I had a chance to write this article on the way Philip Rivers felt about the Charger fans in the city of San Diego. It’s a great tribute to the city that he respected for years.
