Philadelphia 76ers Vs. Los Angeles Clippers Start Time, Preview, TV
- Updated: January 3, 2015
The Philadelphia 76ers are the NBA’s worst team thus far and they will be traveling to Los Angeles to take on the Clippers at Staples Center tonight. The Clippers are currently on a two game winning streak as their most recent win came against another struggling Eastern Conference team, the New York Knicks.
Tonight should be an easy win for the Clippers in the start of the calendar year. There where a lot of up and downs for Clippers nation in 2014. To relive the moments click here.
J.J. Redick proved to be a fire starter for the Clippers as they beat the Knicks. He (and his teammates) told ESPN.com the following after the game:
“If I come in with energy then I’m going to benefit,” Redick said.
“He gives everybody an opportunity to get into the game,” said Chris Paul, who finished with eight assists. “He plays hard and he’s a tough guy to guard.”
“When he gets it going like that, it’s tough for other teams to stop,” said Blake Griffin, who had 13 points, seven rebounds and tied his career high with 11 assists.
“We were able to keep our foot on the gas,” Paul said. “We kept our intensity.”
The Philadelphia 76ers are coming off of a loss against the Phoenix Suns. They also facilitated their 15th starting lineup combination as they have continued to struggle with their season. The team’s head coach said this to NBA.com, as well as quotes from other members of the team:
“There were a lot of things on defense, technically, that we could have done better, but I don’t fault [our] effort tonight at all,” said Sixers head coach Brett Brown after the game. “Never once did we feel sorry for ourselves or hang our head. We competed for the whole 48 minutes.
The Sixers were led by Tony Wroten, who led all scorers with 28 points on 10-of-19 shooting in 33 minutes off the bench; he also went 4-for-9 from long range.
“I got it going offensively, but none of that matters when you don’t get a win,” said Wroten after the game. “We were playing so well, and we’d turn the ball over and hurt ourselves, things that we can’t have in order to win.”
It seems as though this will be an easy win for the Clippers, but we will have to wait and see!
