Perry Leads Ducks To 8th Straight Win

Corey Perry recorded his ninth hat trick of his career and the Anaheim Ducks beat the Los Angeles Kings 4-2 on Sunday night. Anaheim is now just two points back of the Kings in the Pacific Division.

Perry scored his 24th goal of the season with a wrist shot in the first period on the power play. Sami Vatanen (24) and Ryan Getzlaf (42) to put the Ducks up 1-0.

Alec Martinez answered with a slap shot goal that was his eighth of the season on the power play. Drew Doughty (29) and Anze Kopitar were credited with the assists and the game was tied after the first period at 1-1.

In the second period Tanner Pearson scored a tip-in shot for his 11th goal of the season. This pushed the Kings lead to 2-1.

Perry scored another power play goal with a wrist shot later in the period. For Perry it was his 25th goal of the season that was assisted by Cam Fowler (17). After two the score was tied again at 2-2.

At the start of the third period Perry recorded his hat trick with his 26th goal of the season. His goal was assisted by Vatanen (25) again and Anaheim took the lead at 3-1.

Anaheim scored another power play goal later in the period when David Perron (11) scored a wrist shot goal. Perry (19) was credited with the assist as he recorded four points on the night.

Los Angeles scored a goal that was later challenged and reversed as they were ruled offsides. The Kings were unable to come back from the deficit and fell 4-2.

Goaltender Jonathan Quick made 25 saves for a 86% save percentage. John Gibson made 27 saves for a 93% save percentage.

Los Angeles is off until Thursday night when they host the Montreal Canadiens. For Anaheim they are off until Wednesday night.
