Padres Woes Continue Fall To Rangers 5-2

The San Diego Padres are going through a cold spell and their woes continued with a loss to the Texas Rangers 5-2 on Wednesday night.

Clayton Richard got the start for the Padres. He pitched 7 innings allowing 10 hits and 4 runs. Ge walked 1 and struck out 3 as he picked up his 7th loss of the year.

On the other side, Mike Minor got the start. He pitched 7 innings and allowed 1 hit. He struck out 5 and picked up his 6th win of the year.

The offense got started in the 3rd inning when Adrian Beltre hit an RBI double that brought in Elvis Andrus. Jurickson Profar followed with an RBI single of his own to push the Rangers lead to 2-0.

In the 4th inning, Delino DeShields reached on a bunt single and brought in Joey Gallo to push the lead to 3-0.

In the 7th inning, Isiah Kiner-Falefa hit an RBI single in the 7th inning that brought in Rougned Odor and pushed the lead to 4-0.

Austin Hedges hit an RBI double in the 8th inning that brought in Christian Villanueva and put San Diego on the board. Eric Hosmer drew a walk with the bases loaded that brought in Jose Pirela and San Diego cut the lead to 4-2.

Ryan Rua hit a solo shot in the 8th to push the lead back up to 5-2. Keone Kela came on in the 9th inning and struck out 2 while he picked up his 20th save of the year.
