Padres Walkoff Against D-backs on Hoffman Night

On Saturday night the Padres slugged their way to a 7-6 walk-off win against the D-backs. Starting pitcher Clayton Richard lasted five innings while allowing five earned runs. The bullpen gave the offense a chance, as the bullpen gave up one run over four innings of work. In total, the pitching staff allowed six runs on twelve hits.

After some tough games offensively,  San Diego broke out in a big way, scoring seven runs on nine hits. The Padres had the winning run in scoring position when infielder Christian Villanueva drilled a single to left. San Diego would go to celebrate the walk-off win.

Prior to the game, the Padres would unveil a new Trevor Hoffman statue. Hoffman also received a special ceremony before the game. All fans in attendance received a Trevor Hoffman hall of fame plaque. To close off the Trevor Hoffman festivities, there was a post-game fireworks show dedicated to Trevor Hoffman.

It was a memorable night for San Diego fans and one that truly honored Trevor Hoffman.
