Padres sign Cashner and Ross avoiding arbitration

@dailybunchSD

Earlier this morning the San Diego Padres were able to sign the last of their remaining players that were arbitration eligible. Both starting pitchers Andrew Cashner (6-16, 4.34 ERA) and Tyson Ross (10-12, 3.26 ERA) agreed to one year deals.

The news was reported via Corey Brock, San Diego Padres reporter. According to Brock, Ross will earn 9.25 million for the 2016 season. While Cashner will receive 7.15 million for next year.

This was key for the San Diego Padres as both players were key to their rotation last season. In the changing National league West this was crucial toward remaining competitive in the division.

In the last 48 hours the Padres managed to sign players that were needed for next season. It will be interesting to see the impact of signing four key players that were arbitration eligible.
