Padres Select Eric Lauer In MLB Draft

According to AJ Cassavell of MLB.com the San Diego Padres selected Eric Lauder from Kent State University in the first round of the 2016 MLB Draft.
Eric Lauer, who had a 0.69 ERA for Kent State this season, goes to the Friars at No. 25.

With the 25th pick, the Padres take LHP Eric Lauer from Kent State. Had 0.69 ERA this season, the lowest for Division I starter since 1979.

Lauer is a 21-year old lefty who posted a 0.69 ERA. Experts have stated that he is one of the most pro ready prospects and hopes to be in the big leagues sooner rather than later.
