Padres Re-Sign Freddy Galvis

According to Dennis Lin of the San Diego Union-Tribune, the San Diego Padres have re-signed second basemen, Freddy Galvis.
The Padres avoided arbitration with Freddy Galvis, Kirby Yates, Cory Spangenberg and Matt Szczur. Believe negotiations with Brad Hand, their remaining arb-eligible, are ongoing.

The Padres settled with Matt Szczur at $950,000. Other agreements today: Freddy Galvis ($6.825 million), Cory Spangenberg ($1.7 million), Kirby Yates ($1.0625 million). Rough estimate for payroll at the moment: $70 million.

Galvis has spent his entire career with the Phialdephia Phillies before being traded to the Padres this offseason. In six years with the club he played in a career high 162 games.
He hit .255 with 12 home runs and 61 RBI’s. San Diego will use Galvis in their infield next season as they add some depth. San Diego is looking to making strides in the NL West next season.
