Padres Place Jarred Cosart On DL

According to A.J. Cassavel of MLB.com, the San Diego Padres have placed starting pitcher Jarred Cosart on the 10-day disabled list.
Jarred Cosart heads to the disabled list with a right-elbow strain. The Padres will need a starter for Saturday against the Royals.

Cassavell reported further information on the news.
The Padres are leaning toward Miguel Diaz making his first career start on Saturday, in Jarred Cosart’s spot.

Cosart has spent time with the Houston Astros, Miami Marlins, and Padres throughout his career. So far this season with the club he has made seven appearances and six starts.
He has posted a 0-2 record with a 4.88 ERA in 26 innings of work. San Diego will turn to Miguel Diaz most likely who will get his first shot on the big stage.
San Diego sits a 5th in the NL West with a record of 23-35.
