According to Jeff Passan of Yahoo Sports, the San Diego Padres are in the mix for first basemen Eric Hosmer.

Hosmer is a former first-round pick of the Royals in the 2008 MLB Draft. He’s spent his entire seven-year career with the Royals winning a World Series and being named a four-time Gold Glove Winner.
