Padres Losing Streak Hits 6, Fall To Rangers 4-3

The San Diego Padres continue to struggle as they fell to the Texas Rangers tonight 4-3. Tonight’s loss marks 6 in a row for struggles Friars.

Ian Kennedy got the start for the Padres and struggled. He lasted just 4.1 innings allowing 4 hits and 4 runs only 3 of them earned however. He struck out just 2 batters and walked 3. In his 4.1 innings he threw 87 pitches, 50 of them for strikes.

On the other hand Wandy Rodriguez got the start for Texas. He last only 5.1 innings tonight. He only allowed 3 hits and 1 run. He did strike out 5 and walk 2 in his outing as well. In his 5.1 innings of work he threw 91 pitches, 57 of them for strikes.

Prince Fielder got the Rangers on the board in the first inning. He hit a sacrifice fly that brought in Delino DeShields and gave the Rangers a 1-0 lead.

It was the Rangers again in the third inning. Carlos Corporan grounded out to second that brought in Rougned Odor, Heading into the fourth the Rangers lead 2-0.

Fielder continued his strong play in the fourth inning when he hit a solo shot to right field. Adrian Beltre followed with one of his own and just like that the Rangers lead 4-0.

Finally in the sixth inning Melvin Upton hit a solo shot to left field that put the Padres on the board.

Upton was on it again in the eighth inning when he hit a sacrifice fly to left that brought in Yonder Alonso. This cut the deficit to 4-2. Matt Kemp was able to score due to a throwing error but that was the last run the Padres pushed across and they fell to the Rangers 4-3.

The Padres and Rangers will continue their series tomorrow night at 6:05 p.m. PST
