Padres Lose To Angels 7-3

On Tuesday afternoon, the Padres lost by the score of 7-3, and also lost the series. Starting pitcher Brett Kennedy allowed five earned runs over five innings of work. After the rough start, the bullpen would come on in relief, starting in the sixth. After a scoreless sixth by Matt Strahm, Robert Stock allowed an unearned run in the seventh. Stock would bounce back with a scoreless eighth. After stock, rookie reliever Trey Wingenter allowed a run in the ninth. In the long run, the Padres pitching staff allowed seven runs on eleven hits.

As for the Padres offense, they were held to three runs. Shortstop Freddy Galvis hit a home run in the fourth. As a result of the home run, Galvis has now hit one in three consecutive games. Later on in the sixth, the Padres would get a couple back after Cory Spangenberg tripled in a run. Shortly after, another run scored when Manuel Margot hit a sacrifice fly. The offense remained scoreless for the rest of the game.

Up next for San Diego they will conclude their three-game series on Wednesday night. The Padres will send to the mound left-hander Robbie Erlin. Erlin is 2-3 this season with most of his innings coming from the bullpen.
