Padres Ink Edwin Jackson

@JoeFrisaro

According to Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports the San Diego Padres have signed free agent pitcher Edwin Jackson to a minor-league contract.

Dennis Lin of the San Diego Union Tribune also reported the news.

Rosenthal reported further details of the move.

The veteran Jackson has played 14 seasons at the major league level. He began his career with the Los Angeles Dodgers and eventually played for the Tampa Bay Rays, Detroit Tigers, Arizona Diamondbacks, Chicago White Sox, St. Louis Cardinals, Washington Nationals, Chicago Cubs, Atlanta Braves and Miami Marlins.

With the Padres struggling they are looking for any help they can get. Jackson at this stage of his career is not a starting pitcher. He has shown some signs of success out of the bullpen over the last few years and that come in handy for San Diego.
