Padres Hire Skip Schumaker As First Base Coach

According to AJ Cassavell of MLB.com former big leaguer Skip Schumaker will be the new first base coach of the San Diego Padres.
Skip Schumaker will take over as first-base coach for the Padres this season, per team sources.

Dennis Lin of the San Diego Union-Tribune also reported the news.

Schumaker is a former fifth-round pick of the St. Louis Cardinals in the 2001 MLB Draft. He spent 11 years in the majors spending time with the Cardinals, Los Angeles Dodgers, and Cinnacti Reds.
Schumaker won the World Series in 2011 with the Cardinals. Schumaker signed a minor league deal with the Padres in 2016 and retired before the season started. The Padres are revamping their coaching staff this summer.
