Padres Hire Matt Stairs As Hitting Coach

According to Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports, the San Diego Padres have hired former big leaguer Matt Stairs as their new hitting coach.

Dennis Lin of the San Diego Union-Tribune also reported the news.
Can confirm Matt Stairs will be the Padres’ next hitting coach. A young Phillies offense saw improvement under Stairs in 2017.

Stairs spent 19 years in the league spending time with the Montreal Expos, Boston Red Sox, Oakland Athletics, Chicago Cubs, Milwaukee Brewers, Pittsburgh Pirates, Kansas City Royals, Texas Rangers, Detroit Tigers, Toronto Blue Jays, Philadelphia Phillies, San Diego Padres, and Washington Nationals throughout his career.
Stairs was elected to the Candian Baseball Hall of Fame in 2015. Stairs was hired as the Phillies hitting the coach in 2016 and did a go job with the young Phillies team.
