Padres Fire Hitting Coach Alan Zinter

According to Dennis Lin of the San Diego Tribune, the San Diego Padres have fired hitting coaching Alan Zinter.

AJ Cassavell of MLB.com also reported the news.

Padres Radio also reported the news.

Zinter played minor league baseball for 14 years before playing a few seasons in the majors. The former first round pick played first base throughout his career.

Zinter began his coaching career in 2008 in the Arizona Diamondback organization. He worked his way up the minor league coaching ranks before being named the coordinator of minor league hitting for the Cleveland Indians in 2012.

In 2014 Zinter was the assistant hitting coach for the Astros before joining the Padres in 2015. As more information surfaces on the Padres and their news we will keep you up to date.
