Padres Fall To Cardinals 5-2

The St.Louis Cardinals hit three home runs and beat the San Diego Padres 5-2 on Monday night.
Jordan Lyles got the start for San Diego. He pitched 6 innings allowing 11 hits and 4 runs. He struck out 2 and picked up his third loss of the year.
On the other side, Jack Flaherty got the start. He pitched 6.1 innings and allowed 3 hits and 1 run. He walked 1 and struck out 6 and picked up his third win of the year.
The offense got started when Cory Spangenberg hit a solo shot in the 2nd inning. Jose Martinez answered back with a 2-run shot that brought in Tommy Pham.
Marcell Ozuna hit another 2-run shot in the 5th inning with Martinez. In the 8th inning, Hunter Renfroe grounded out to third that brought in Travis Jankowski that cut the lead to 4-2.
Jedd Gyorko capped the night with a solo shot to push the lead to 5-2. Bud Norris came on in the 9th inning and struck out 1 to pick up his 13th save of the year.
The series will continue tonight at Busch Stadium.
