Padres Extend Brad Hand

According to Ken Rosenthal of the Atheltic, the San Diego Padres have reached an agreement with relief pitcher Brad Hand on a three-year extension.
LH reliever Brad Hand in agreement with #Padres on three-year extension with club option for fourth year, sources tell The Athletic. Guarantee believed to be $18M-$20M range. Deal covers final two arb years and at least one free-agent year. Option is for second free-agent year.

Dennis Lin of the San Diego Union Tribune reported information on the news.
A.J. Preller said the Padres are finalizing Brad Hand’s extension. On whether Hand is off the trade block, he said: “You always listen on any player at any time. … But we’re trying to build a foundation of guys going forward that fit for us and we feel like are winning pieces.”

Hand is a former second round pick of the Marlins in the 2008 MLB Draft. He has spent time with the Marlins and Padres throughout his career.
