Padres Claim Keith Hessler Off Waivers

According to Steve Gilbert of MLB.com the San Diego Padres have claimed Keith Hessler off of waivers from the Arizona Diamondbacks.
LHP Keith Hessler is no longer part of #Dbacks org. Andy Green‘s #Padres claimed him off waivers today. Was DFA’ed April 30

Dennis Lin of the San Diego Union Tribune also reported the news.
The Padres have claimed LHP Keith Hessler off waivers from the D-backs. The 27-year-old reliever has an 8.22 ERA in 15.1 IP in the majors.

Lin reported further details on the news.
Just-claimed LHP Keith Hessler is expected to report tomorrow to serve as the Padres’ 26th man for the doubleheader.

Although Hessler has struggled this season he does have a connection with the Padres skipper Andy Green. San Diego is looking to add some depth in the rotation and Hessler has a chance to help there.
