Padres Call Up 2B Carlos Asuaje

According to Ken Rosenthal of FOXSports the San Diego Padres have called up prospect second basemen Carlos Asuaje.

Dennis Lin of the San Diego Tribune also reported the news.
The Padres will call up Carlos Asuaje, as @Ken_Rosenthal said. A reliever, likely Jose Valdez, will be optioned.

Padres are indeed expected to recall Carlos Asuaje tomorrow, as Ken Rosenthal said. Hector Sanchez had a setback in his recovery.

Asuaje is a former 11th round pick of the Boston Red Sox in the 2013 MLB Draft. He has spent most of his career in the minors, making his MLB debut with the Padres last September.
So far this season Asuaje is batting .222 with one homerun and 20 RBI’s. He is a career .287 hitter in the minors. As more information surfaces on the Padres and their roster moves we will keep you up to date.
