Padres Beat Pirates 3-2

The San Diego Padres pitchers held the Pittsburgh Pirates to just 3 hits and beat the Buss by a score of 3-2 on Friday. For the Padres they have won three in a row.
On the home side Travis Wood got the start. He pitched 6 innings allowing 2 runs and 2 hits while striking out 7. He picked up his 2nd win of the year.
On the other side it Chad Kuhl who got the start. He pitched 5.1 innings allowing 2 runs and 4 hits. He walked 5 and struck out 4 and he was given the no decision.
The offense got started in the 3rd inning when Andrew McCutuchen hit a 2-run homer to left field that brought in Josh Harrison. This gave the Pirates an early 2-0 lead.
In the 4th inning Wood hit a RBI single that brought in Cory Spangenberg that put San Diego on the board. Spangenberg followed up in the 6th inning with a RBI triple that brought in Jose Pirela. This tied the score at 2-2. Spangenberg then scored on a wild pitch that gave San Diego the lead.
Brand Hand came on in the 9th inning and shut the club down for his 6th save of the year. San Diego and Pittsburgh will continue their series today at Petco Park.
Dinelson Lamet and Ivan Nova are the projected starters.
