Padres Beat Marlins 3-1

The San Diego Padres used a strong start from Clayton Richard as they went on to beat the Miami Marlins 3-1 on Sunday afternoon.
Richard pitched 7 innings allowing 1 run while striking out 5 and walking 3. He picked up his 5th win of the year.
On the other side, Jose Urena got the start. He pitched 6 innings allowing 6 hits and 3 runs. He walked 0 and struck out 5 but picked up his 8th loss of the season.
The offense got started in the 2nd inning when Freddy Galvis hit a sacrifice fly that brought in Hunter Renfroe. Eric Hosmer hit a 2-run shot in the 6th inning that brought in Travis Jankowski that pushed the lead to 3-0.
In the 7th inning, JT Riddle hit an RBI single that brought in Lewis Brinson to cut the lead to 3-1. Brad Hand came on in the 9th inning and picked up his 19th save of the year.
San Diego will begin their series with the St. Louis Cardinals tonight at 5:15 p.m.
