Padres Beat Cubs 3-2

The San Diego Padres beat the defending World Series Champion Chicago Cubs on Wednesday night by a score of 3-2. San Diego snapped a three game losing streak with the win.

Miguel Diaz got the start for the Padres. He pitched just 2.1 innings before being removed from the game due to some tightness. He is expected to miss his next start.

On the other side Eddie Butler got the start. He pitched 4 innings allowing 5 hits an 1 run. He walked 3 and struck out 4 as he was awarded a no decision for his efforts.

The offense got started for the Cubs in the fourth inning. Ian Happ hit his tenth home run of the year, a two-run shot that brought in Kyle Schwarber. This gave the Cubs a 2-0 lead.

In the fifth inning Jose Pirela hit a RBI single that brought in Craig Stammen. In the 6th inning Erick Aybar hit a solo shot that tied the game.

Luis Torrens drew a walk in the eight inning with the bases loaded that brought in Wil Myers and the Padres went on to win 3-2.
