George had told the Pacers front office that he was going to opt out of his contract next summer and his preference was to join the Los Angeles Lakers. Los Angeles offered numerous trades that included Jordan Clarkson, Julius Randle and draft picks but the Pacers went in another direction.
For OKC they get a top level player to play alongside Russell Westbrook. Westbrook is coming off his best season as a pro where he won his first MVP trophy.
OKC is looking to load up on some talent after the Houston made the trade to add Chris Paul along James Harden, and the Minnesota Timberwolves adding Jimmy Butler and Jeff Teague to their fold.
