After a midweek 5 – 1 loss to the San Antonio Rampage, the Ontario Reign turned it around in weekend games, taking a shootout over the Iowa Wild Saturday, 6-5, and then a solid victory over the Rockford IceHogs Sunday, 3-1.

The Reign (5-3-3) close out a three-game road trip Friday, November 18 against the Stockton Heat at the Stockton Arena.

In the November 9 loss to the Rampage in front of 6,817 at the Citizens Business Bank Arena, the lone Reign goal came from forward Mike Amadio who tied up the match midway through the second period on a power play, assist to forward Justin Auger. The Rampage then scored the next four goals on Jack Campbell who finished with 22 stops on 27 chances. Opposite side of the rink, the Rampage goaltender Spencer Martin made 20 saves on 21 shots. With a combined total of 101 penalty minutes between the two teams, this was a physical match, ultimately taken by San Antonio (now 6–8-0-0).

In the November 12 shootout 6-5 victory over Iowa Wild at the Wells Fargo Arena, the Reign came back from a two goal deficit to move ahead 5-4 with three third period goals, only to give up the tying goal with 19 seconds left after the Wild pulled its goalie. Reign goalie Anders Lindback (23 saves on 28 shots) outlasted Steve Michalek (35 saves on 40 shots). The second-ever shootout for Ontario saw forwards Jonny Brodzinski and Sean Backman both find the net for the Reign victory over the Wild, now 5–8-0-1.

In the November 13 win over the Rockford IceHogs (5-8-1-0) at the BMO Harris Bank Center, Reign goalie Lindback turned away 31 of 32 shots, while being supported through one goal in each period, via T.J. Hensick, Amadio and Brodzinski. An IceHogs goal from Kyle Baun 58 seconds into the third cut the lead in half, but the evening belonged to the Reign, now tied for third in the Pacific Division with the Stockton Heat (13 points) behind both the Tucson Roadrunners (16 points) and the Texas Stars (15 points).
