Ontario Reign Wrap Up A Season

The Ontario Reign’s season comes to a close.
Following a 1-0 loss to the Dallas Stars in the fourth game of a potential five-game series, the Reign packs it in.
The series ran this course:
Round One (Pacific Division Semi-Finals)
Game 1: Ontario 3 @ Texas 4 (OT)
Game 2: Ontario 5 @ Texas 1
Game 3: Texas 5 @ Ontario 4 (OT2)
Game 4: Texas 1 @ Ontario 0
In the final game of an even series, goalie Cal Petersen, who coach Mike Stothers called the best goalie in the AHL, stopped 25 of 26 shots. But that one goal would be enough for a loss. Texas Dennis Gurianov scored 6:54 into the third.
Starting the season 0-6. the Reign steadily improved over the year, pushing hard towards the end to make the playoffs.
Yet, now the season and the dream of a Calder Cup is over.
“A hard way to end the year,” said captain Brett Sutter.
