World Peace or Ron Artest, whatever you want to call him won a championship with the Lakers back in 2010. After much speculation that Artest was working out in the Lakers facilities a deal was finally announced.
It looks like Ron has been brought in to teach Julius Randle how to guard bigger opponents and how to lead a defense. The Lakers struggles were mighty last season on the defensive end especially and Artest will be able to help that department.
There is no real downside to Artest. He won’t demand major minutes and he is a fan favorite. During his heyday he was one of the best perimeter defenders in the league and any knowledge he can shed to the younger Lakers will be a big help.
Who knows, maybe Kobe Bryant will pass him the ball.
