Odrisamer Despaigne Throws Gem Padres Beat Marlins 3-2

Odrisamer Despaigne threw 6 innings of beautiful baseball to help guide the Padres to a 3-2 lead. This marks 3 in a row for the Padres after losing game 1 of the series.
Despaigne threw 6 innings allowing 2 hits and 1 run. He struck out 3 and walked 2 as he picked up his 4th win of the season.
On the other hand Mat Latos got the start for the Marlins. He pitched 6 innings allowing 6 hits and 3 runs. He struck out 5 and walked 0 in his outing. His efforts had him pick up his 7th loss of the season.
The Padres offense got started in the 2nd inning when Justin Upton hit a solo shot to left center field. It was his 16th home run of the season and put the Friars up 1-0. Alexi Amarista followed with a sacrifice fly to left field that brought in Yonder Alonso and Padres took a 2-0 lead.
In the 5th inning the Marlins got on the board. Ichiro Suzuki hit a sacrifice fly to left field that brought in J.T. Realmuto. This cut the lead to 2-1.
Matt Kemp grounded out in the 6th inning but that was enough to push Will Venable across the plate. This took the Padres lead to 3-1.
Realmuto hit a solo blast in the 7th inning. It was his 6th of the year and the Marlins were able to get within 1 run.
Craig Kimbrel came on in the 9th inning for the Padres and shut the club down. It was his 29th save of the year and the Padres won 3-2. The Padres will have tomorrow off before traveling to New York to take on the Mets on Tuesday.
