Noah Syndergaard Stars, Padres Lose 4-0

Noah Syndergaard threw 8 innings of shutout baseball and the San Diego Padres fell to the New York Mets 4-0 on Tuesday night. This ended the Padres winning streak.
James Shields got the start for the Padres. He pitched 7 innings allowing 7 hits and 3 runs. He struck out 4 as he picked up his 4th loss of the year.
Syndergaard was excellent for the Mets. His 8 innings of shutout baseball allowing just 3 hits. He struck out 9 and picked up his 5th win of the season.
The offense started in the first inning when Lucas Duda hit a 2-run home run to center field. It was his 15th of year and brought in Daniel Murphy.
Curtis Granderson hit a 2-run shot in the 8th inning. His 15th bomb of the year brought in Juan Lagares and the Mets led 4-0.
Tyler Clippard came on in the 9th inning to finish the game off for the Mets. The Mets and Padres will continue their series tomorrow night at 4:10 p.m. PST
