The New York Knicks will take on the Los Angeles Clippers today in a matchup at home in LA.
The Clippers were able to regain their composure on Monday night as the team were able to beat the Utah Jazz 101-97. They will find some relief in their hectic schedule as they will take on two of the worst teams in the league over the next four days.
Chris Paul told NBA.com the following:
“It’s been such a blur because there’s been so many games,” star point guard Chris Paul said. “But we can’t look at that, or look for excuses like that. We’ve pushed and fought through some times when guys are a little bit winded. We just talk about staying the course and figuring out a way to win.“
“Blake was huge. He made some big shots and got some tough rebounds,” Paul said. “He had some tough calls go against him, but he just didn’t let it bother him. I think that shows the growth in our team, and also in Blake.”
The Knicks are coming off of their eighth straight defeat and are dealing with injuries in Carmelo Anthony, J.R. Smith, Samuel Dalembert and Amare Stoudemire. NBA.com reports:
“New York has surrendered 114.0 points per game over its last four and ranks last in defending the 3, allowing opponents to shoot 39.5 percent. The Knicks let the Trail Blazers shoot 16 for 36 (44.4) from beyond the arc in Sunday’s 101-79 loss in Portland.
“We don’t necessarily make decisions for him,” coach Derek Fisher said when asked if he would rest his hobbled leading scorer. “He’s part of the conversation. So we have opinions that we’ve expressed to him. We talk about different things, but really it is a decision that he has to also want to make for himself and his career.”
The Los Angeles Clippers have won the previous four meeting with the Knicks.
