The Los Angeles Lakers will take on the New Orleans Pelicans tonight as they host their first game after a road trip. On Friday night the Lakers were unable to beat the Boston Celtics as they fell 113-96.

The Los Angeles Lakers concluded their 3-game East Coast road trip with a Friday night loss against their longtime rivals, the Boston Celtics.

“The Lakers were  behind all night at the TD Garden, as their defense was once again the culprit. They trailed by as much as 16 in the 1st quarter. A series of runs kept the Lakers within striking distance, only trailing by 5 at the end of the first half, 53-48. The Celtics took it up a notch and started to pull away in the 3rd quarter, outscoring the Lakers 33-22.

Kobe Bryant inched closer in surpassing Michael Jordan on the All-Time Scoring list (77 points away) with his 22 points on 9-21 shooting.

The Lakers shot 41% from the field and under 38% from beyond the arc. Nick Young led the Lakers bench once again with 16 points on 5-14 shooting while Jeremy Lin broke out of his scoreless performance against the Wizards, scoring 14 points. Jordan Hill had a perfect night, shooting 6-6 from the field with 13 points, but it was not enough to give the Lakers the win.”

While the Lakers are 2-8 at the home, the Pelicans are struggling as well. Their last win against the Lakers led to the most promising stretch in their season and things have since become much more difficult. They will be looking to get back on track with a win over the Lakers, and the Lakers will be ready and raring to take them on.

The Los Angeles Lakers and the New Orleans Pelicans will create a matchup between the league’s top scorers Kobe Bryant is averaging 25.8 and Anthony Davis has 25.3.

“It’s an up and down thing for us in terms of how we play,” Bryant said. “Frustration is good. You have to be able to use your frustration in the right way and channel it to have good performances.”
