Feel like you need to catch-up on everything that happened/is happening this week in the NFL? Don’t worry! CaliSports News has you covered. Here is “What you need to know – NFL AFC West Week 9.”

[su_heading size=”16″]San Diego Chargers vs. Miami Dophins[/su_heading]

The breakdown:

San Diego Chargers quarterback is having an amazing season! He has 20 touchdowns, five interceptions while completing 68.3% of his passes. Miami’s Ryan Tannehill still hasn’t got it together in his third, make-or-break season.

It matters because…:

San Diego Chargers need to stick with the Denver Broncos, Colts and Patriots in the race for the AFC’s top seed pace. There is no room for falling behind. Miami Dolphins need to win to show the can be the AFC wild-card contender.

Who has the upper hand:

Philip Rivers and the San Diego Chargers. He’s a very accomplished slider within the pocket. It is possible that Rivers might have the league’s fastest delivery.

[su_heading size=”16″]Denver Broncos vs. New England Patriots[/su_heading]

The big game this week is the matchup between Peyton Manning and Tom Brady. Here we see the number one seed of the AFC West take on the New England Patriots.

The breakdown:

This is big deal for the NFL. It could be compared to a matchup between the great Larry Byrd and Magic Johnson. This is one of the greatest rivalries in football today and it should be cherished. We don’t know when the next meeting between the two will be.

It matters because…:

Manning’s Denver Broncos and Tom Brady’s Patriots are looking to gain speed in the race for the second-half stretch runs. The Broncos are 6-1 and the New England Patriots are 6-2 and they have been kicking butt and taking names since their matchup with the Kansas City Chiefs.

Who has the upper hand:

Payton Manning. He has the better cast mates and defense. Brady has three Super Bowl rings compared to one for Manning. But this time, Manning not only has more weapons on offense.

[su_heading size=”16″]Kansas City Chiefs vs. New York Jets[/su_heading]

The breakdown:

The Kansas City Chiefs have won their last four of five games after starting the season 0-2.

It matters because…:

If the New York Jets don’t take the “W” tomorrow, they won’t have won in two months. Their last win came against the Oakland Raiders in their season opener. This could be Michael Vick’s last chance at showing us he’s a real football star.

Who has the upper hand:

Kansas City Chiefs! Their defense has what it takes to contain Vick and his offense and to add a cherry on top, Vick is a fumble machine. Kansas City will be laughing all the way to the bank

[su_heading size=”16″]Oakland Raiders vs. SeattleSeahawks[/su_heading]

The breakdown:

The Oakland Raiders are 0-7 going into Sunday’s game at CenturyLink Field, which just so happens to be one of the hardest places to play for a visiting team, in the NFL.

It matters because…:

Historically, the Seahawks have played cruddy teams tight at home, so it might not be a given that Seattle sweeps the Raiders. But, let’s be real, the chances of anything but a Seahawks win are very very slim.

Who has the upper hand:

Experts and analysts across the league are picking the Seattle Seahawks, and CaliSports News isn’t going to disagree! Look for a score 31-16 region.
