This week the Los Angeles Clippers continued on their long road trip, here is an excerpt from the recap:

“Clippers were coming off of a in against the Charlotte Hornets and they clinched another win on a very long road trip. Click here to read about the Clippers last win.

They outscored the Pistons 32-25 in the final and Chris Paul scored 14 of his 23 points in the third.  The Clippers shot 64.7 percent from the field in the last 12 minutes, including a 5-for-7 finish from 3-point range.

“That would be enough against a Pistons team that’s now lost six straight and has dropped all five games they’ve allowed at least 100 points. This is also the seventh straight win for the Clippers against the Pistons.

Coach Doc Rivers said this, regarding Detroit’s sixth loss in a row, to ESPN after the game:

“Winning a game in the NBA is hard,” Clippers coach Doc Rivers said. “Those guys are professionals, and they want to break that streak, so it was going to be tough. If we hadn’t embraced that, we wouldn’t have won this game.”

“I’ve never been in this situation,” a frustrated Van Gundy said.”

The Los Angeles Lakers took another loss against the Memphis Grizzlies as they fell 99-93:

“The Memphis Grizzlies are one of the hottest teams in the NBA and their hot streak continued as they beat the Lakers 99-93 last night. The Lakers were coming off a loss to the Nuggets on Sunday. Click here to read the recap.

Marc Gasol scored 19 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for the Grizz. Mike Conley also added 19 and Zach Randolph scored 16 as the Grizzlies won their 7th out of 8 games.

Former Ohio State guard Mike Conley told ESPN.com this about the win:

“It says a lot about our focus early this season,” Conley said. “That’s all we want to do, is to come out focused for the first couple of months of the season, set a good standard for ourselves, and have to just hold ourselves accountable and try to get better.”

For the Lakers the loss dropped the Lakers to just 1-7 at home. So far this season they have lost multiple games by 7 or less points. Kobe Bryant had this to say about the loss.

It’s just as frustrating no matter how many times we lost by seven points or less,” Bryant said. “I mean, it’s not like we have levels of frustration. It’s either all or nothing. We’ve had some opportunities against some of the top teams in the West to win, and we just let it get away from us.”
