According to Buster Olney of ESPN.com the Washington Nationals are pursing San Diego Padres closer Craig Kimbrel.

The Padres are officially sellers at the deadline and they looking to move their assets like Kimbrel and Justin Upton. Ken Rosenthal reported that the Nationals are looking for closer help and have turned to the Cincinnati Reds with interest in Aroldis Chapman.

With the trade deadline looming the Padres will have to make a move sooner or later. Krimbel, Upton, and even James Shields could be on the move.
