MNF Preview: Pittsburgh Steelers Vs. San Diego Chargers
- Updated: October 12, 2015
The San Diego Chargers will play host to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday night football. Philip Rivers is coming off a AFC Offensive Player of the Week award after leading the Chargers to 30-27 victory over the Cleveland Browns.
On the other hand the Steelers are looking for Michael Vick to lead to victory on the road. With Ben Roethlisberger hurt Vick is the next man up. They will have the benefit of having Martavis Bryant back in the lineup. He served a four-game suspension for violating the the league’s substance-abuse policy.
The Chargers are also getting one of their weapons back. Antonio Gates returns from his four game suspension as well and has a chance to make history. Gates is currently at 99 career touchdown catches and could become the second tight end in NFL history to eclipse the 100 mark.
As much as Bryant may help the Steelers they will have Le’Veon Bell who will surely get plenty of touches. He is coming off a strong game where he carried for 150 yards.
Melvin Gordon has struggled over the last two weeks and if the Chargers want to be successful throughout the season Gordon will need to be effective.
The Steelers are coming off a overtime loss in which they had kicking issues. Josh Scobee missed two late kicks that would have won them the game. Steeler fans were not happy about the kicking issues.
