Mike Woodson To Interview For Sacramento Kings

According to Ben Bolch of the Los Angeles Times, the Los Angeles Clippers have granted permission to the Sacramento Kings to interview assistant coach Mike Woodson for their head coaching vacancy.
Clippers have given Mike Woodson permission to talk to Kings, as first reported by The Vertical.

Joe Davidson of the Sacramento Bee reported that he wouldn’t be surprised if the Kings chose Woodson to be their next head coach.

Woodson has been a part of the NBA since 1980 when he was drafted in the first round by the New York Knicks. He played over ten years in the league before retiring.
Woodson then went on to coaching where he became an assistant coach with the Milwaukee Bucks, Cleveland Cavaliers, Philadelphia 76ers, and Detroit Pistons. He was a part of the staff that won the Championship in 2004 with Detroit.
He was then given his first opportunity to be a head coach where he spent 6 years with the Atlanta Hawks. During his time with the Hawks he posted a 206-286 record but brought them for the bottom of the league to a force to be reckon with in the Eastern Conference.
After his dismal he went on to be an assistant coach on Mike D’Antoni‘s staff in New York and then took over when D’Antoni stepped down. Woodson coach the team for about three years and posted a 109-79 record before being let go.
