Mike Trout Delivers In Clutch Keeps Angels Playoff Hopes Alive

ARLINGTON, Tx- Mike Trout delivered a triple in the 9th inning that lead to the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim victory over the Texas Rangers on Friday night.
For the Halos Jered Weaver got the start. He pitched 6 innings allowing 2 hits and 1 run. He struck out 2 and walked 3 as he picked up the no decision for his efforts.
On the other side Martin Perez got the start. He pitched 7 innings allowing 4 hits and 1 run. He struck out 4 and walked 1 as he picked up the no decision as well.
The Angels got on the board in the 1st inning. C.J. Cron hit a RBI single to center that brought in Erick Aybar and gave the Halos a 1-0 lead.
Shin-Soo Choo delivered in the 4th inning for Texas. He hit a solo shot to left center that was his 22nd home run of the year and tied the game at 1-1.
In the 9th after the Trout triple, Albert Pujols delivered a RBI single to centerfield to give the Halos a 2-1 advantage.
Joe Smith came on in the 9th inning and shut the club down and the Angels won 2-1.
The Angels and Rangers will square off at 11:05 p.m. PST today in the biggest game of the year.
