Mike Trout Agrees To A Record Deal With Angels

Despite the record signing of Bryce Harper‘s deal last month, the Angels and Mike Trout are close to a 12-year extension worth 430 million to stay with the Los Angeles Angels.

The record-setting deal comes after the speculation of Trout leaving the Angels for the Philadelphia Phillies at the end of his current contract.

The 27-year old Trout was eligible to become a free agent after the 2020 season.
The new deal will surpass Machado and Harper’s for the highest paid player in baseball history. As more details of the deal are confirmed, there will be no opt-out clause.

This is the right move for the Angels, this was a priority as the identity of this franchise rest on Trout. Now the question moving forward is what next for the Angels to contend for a World Series title. The foundation is set with Trout, now will this team bring in free agents to help bring the team another title.
